Our History

Tidewater Winery is proudly located in the historic Tidal School building in Drumright, Oklahoma. Constructed in the 1920s by John D. Rockefeller for the Tidewater Oil Company (Tydol), the school was originally built to serve the families of the growing workforce during the height of the oil boom. Today, it stands as one of the few remaining landmarks from that vibrant era and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
For over 80 years, Tidewater Oil Company was a major force in the American petroleum industry. Its investment in Drumright included not only a major refinery, but also the creation of the Tidal School to educate the children of its employees.

Conveniently located just off historic Route 66 on Oklahoma Highway 16, Tidewater Winery offers more than just a taste of wine—it offers a taste of history.
